Main Bearing Cap

Install main bearing cap bolts.

Tightening torque
Main bearing cap bolt 28 - 32 Nm (2.8 - 3.2 kgf.m, 20.6 - 23.6 lb-ft) + 60° ~ 64°

NOTE:
- The main bearing cap bolts are tightened in 2 progressive steps.
- If any of the bearing cap bolts in broken or deformed, replace it.

(1) Apply a light coat of engine oil on the threads and under the bearing cap bolts.
(2) Install and uniformly tighten the 10 bearing cap bolts(A), in several passes, in the sequence shown.

Tightening torque 30 Nm (300 kgf.cm, 22 lbf.ft)




(3) Retighten the bearing cap bolts by 60°~65° in the numerical order shown.
(4) Check that the crankshaft turns smoothly.
