Soldering Procedures:
1. Remove the right hand front door scuff trim and the right hand kick panel.
2. Disconnect the connectors from the ECU and Control Relay. Remove the two bolts securing ECU and the ground wires (G07). Remove the ECU and swing the ECU bracket to the side and pull the Control wiring harness out from behind.
3. Open the wiring harness between the ECU connector split and the firewall.
4. Locate the Control Wiring Harness ground splice (SC08). It has six solid black wires crimped together (seven on California spec. vehicles). Two of these wires go to ECU connector C02-1, pins 13 and 23. Remove the black electrical tape, solder, and retape.
5. Locate the Control Wiring Harness power splice (SC09). It has four green w/red and two green w/yellow wires crimped together. Remove the black electrical tape, solder, and retape.
6. Rewrap the ECU wiring harness and reinstall all pieces. Be sure the ground wire terminal (G07) is reattached under the ECU mounting bolt.
# 3 CLEANING THE TPS, MPS AND ISC HARNESS AND TERMINAL CONNECTORS AND IDLE SWITCH
1. Remove the ISC Servo Ass'y. Spray both sides of the TPS, MPS, and ISC connectors with an electrical contact cleaner such as CRC Electrical Contact Cleaner, or LPS Electro Contact Cleaner. Inspect the connectors to be sure no pins are backed out or bent.
2. Remove the Idle Speed Control Ass'y plunger rubber boot and spray contact cleaner into the Idle Switch at the end of the ISC plunger.
3. After the cleaner evaporates, replace the rubber boot properly over the idle switch and reinstall the ISC Servo Kit.
4. Recheck all locations for proper assembly. Roadtest vehicle.
