Manual Update Procedure

In the event menu option 01 "EF, SM 2.4D NAS AUTO-TM" fails to download the new TCM program, option 02 "EF, SM 2.4D NAS AUTO-TM Error" must be used.

1. Turn the ignition to the "ON" position.

2. Turn the Hi-Scan "ON" and press ENTER.





3. Select option "04. EF SM 2.4D TCM (CAMP 041)" and press ENTER.





4. Select menu option 02 "EF, SM 2.4D NAS AUTO-T/M ERROR" and press ENTER.





5. Select the vehicle for TCM reprogramming.





6. Enter the password for the manual update procedure as follows: "8990"

NOTE:
Make certain that the password is entered correctly.





7. Wait until the reprogramming is completely finished. Hi-Scan is compelled to download the program selected in step 5.





8. Wait while the system is re-initialized.

9. When the "COMPLETED !" message is displayed, turn "OFF" the Hi-Scan and the process is over.

NOTE:
The new TCM ROM ID is displayed when the manual update procedure is completed.

10. When the reprogramming is completed successfully, be sure to turn the ignition to the "OFF" position for 20 seconds and then start the engine to verify proper download.

11. After the TCM reprogramming has been completed, install an "Authorized Modification Label" in the engine compartment and hang a "Customer Information Tag" on the rear view mirror. Instructions for the "Authorized Modification Label" and the "Customer Information Tag" follow the "Manual Update Procedure".

ERROR MESSAGES

1. INVALID PASSWORD: Please enter the exact password again.

2. REPROGRAMMING ERROR PLEASE WAIT FOR RETRY: Error occurs during reprogramming, HI-Scan will retry the reprogramming automatically

3. ALREADY REPROGRAMMED: The reprogramming has been done on this car.
