Precautions Prior to Registration
1. ALL EXISTING IGNITION KEYS MUST BE COLLECTED FROM THE CUSTOMER BEFORE PERFORMING THIS PROCEDURE.^ PRIOR KEY ID's WILL BE ERASED ONCE THIS PROCEDURE IS STARTED AND THE EARLIER KEYS WILL NOT START THE VEHICLE.
^ ANY KEYS THAT ARE NOT REGISTERED AT THIS TIME WILL NOT START THE VEHICLE.
2. TO PREVENT TRANSPONDER INTERFERENCE KEEP ALL NATS IGNITION KEYS AND OTHER TRANSPONDERS AWAY FROM THE KEY BEING REGISTERED DURING THE KEY REGISTRATION PROCESS.
^ THIS ENSURES THE PROPER ID CODE FOR EACH KEY REGISTERED IS STORED INTO THE NATS IMMU MEMORY.
3. Do not turn the electronic key in the ignition or "crank" the engine/operate the starter during the Key Registration Procedure.
4. Performing C/U initialization and key registration may not erase NATS DTC's stored in the ECM.
^ YOU MUST CLEAR THE DTC's BY PRESSING ERASE IN THE SELF DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS DISPLAY OF CONSULT.
5. In a rare case, "CHAIN OF ECM-IMMU" might be stored during this procedure, even if the system is not malfunctioning.
^ This code will be erased later.
6. It is recommended that you read through the entire service procedure before doing it for the first time.
