SERVICE INFORMATION





The application chart shown identities the current Infiniti Navigation Map DVDs available.

These Map DVDs can be ordered from the PDCs like any other service part.

IMPORTANT:
In many cases the latest Navigation Map DVD cannot be used in an "older" vehicle (see NOTES).

NOTES:
(1) 2003.5 G35 Sedan ("mid-year") can be identified by the VIN.

^ 11th VIN character for 2003.5 is 3.

^ 11th VIN character for 2003 is 0.

(2) 2002 MY Q45 vehicles used 2 different levels of Navigation System software.

^ 2002+ is the Red DVD Disc that must be used on all 2002 MY Q45 vehicles after they've had the Operating System upgrade.

^ This upgrade DVD is not available for service until early-May 2003.

^ The vehicle Navigation System software level ("old" vs. "new") can be identified using the procedure.

2002 Q45 "SOFTWARE VERSION" IDENTIFICATION PROCEDURE

NOTE:
This procedure is ONLY for 2002 Q45.

1. Start the engine.

2. Turn the audio system off.





3. Press and hold the "INFO" switch as shown in Figure 1.

4. Turn the volume control dial either clockwise or counterclockwise for 30 clicks or more until a short beep sounds. This will let you know the self-diagnosis mode has started. See Figure 1.

5. Release the "INFO" switch.

6. Press and hold the "INFO" switch again.

7. Turn the volume control dial either clockwise or counterclockwise for 30 clicks or more until a short beep sounds. This will let you know the self-diagnosis mode has started.

8. Select "Software Version" from the choices on the screen.

9. Check what is listed in the box entitled "FLASH2".





10. Refer to the chart to determine the proper Map DVD for this vehicle.
