Brake Master Cylinder: Service and Repair




Removal
1. Disconnect front and rear brake pipes from master cylinder.
2. Remove nuts securing the master cylinder to brake booster and support bracket.
3. Remove bolts securing fluid reservoir bracket, then the master cylinder assembly with the fluid reservoir and rubber hoses.


Installation
1. Place master cylinder fluid reservoir and rubber hoses in position with the fluid reservoir bracket.
2. Install nuts securing master cylinder to brake booster and support bracket.
3. Connect front and rear brake pipes to master cylinder.
4. Torque the master-cylinder-to-brake-booster bolt to 10 ft. lbs.
5. Torque brake line flare nut to 12 ft. lbs.
6. Bleed brake system.
