Compressor Fitting HVAC: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Remove the radiator upper sight shield.
2. Perform the Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure.
3. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
4. Remove the radiator air deflector.
- Remove the pin-type retainers.
- Remove the screws and remove the radiator air deflector.
5. Disconnect the evaporator to compressor suction line and the compressor to condenser discharge line spring lock couplings from the A/C manifold and tube. See: Spring Lock Coupling Disconnect Procedure.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector.
7. Loosen the bolt and remove the A/C manifold and tube.
8. Remove the pressure transducer.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) or equivalent. See: Refrigerant Oil Addition.
- Lubricate the O-ring seal with PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) or equivalent.
