EGR Valve: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
2. Remove the throttle linkage cover.
1 Remove the screw.
2 Remove the push pin.
3. Disconnect the EGR tube from the EGR valve.
4. Disconnect the vacuum hose.
5. Remove the bolts from the EGR valve.
6. Remove the EGR valve.
^ Remove the EGR valve from the vehicle.
^ Remove the EGR valve gasket.
7. Inspect the EGR valve for blockage or contamination and vacuum leaks.
8. Clean the EGR valve.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Replace the gasket, EGR valve and the bolts.
^ Install new gasket.
^ Install new EGR valve.
^ Tighten the bolts in two stages.
^ Stage 1: Tighten to 20 Nm (14 Lb-Ft).
^ Stage 2: Tighten an additional 90 degrees.
3. Connect the hose and tube on EGR valve.
^ Tighten the EGR valve tube nut.
^ Connect hose.
4. Inspect for vacuum leaks. If leaks are detected, repair as required.
