Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair

AIR CLEANER - 3.0L (4V) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.
2. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the air cleaner outlet pipe.
- To install, tighten to 4 N.m {0.4 kgf.m, 35 in.lbf}.

3. Remove the bolt and release the 2 air cleaner feet from the rubber grommets.
- To install, tighten to 8 N.m {0.8 kgf.m, 71 in.lbf}.

NOTE: No tools are needed to remove the air cleaner assembly. Removal should be carried out using hands only.

4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE:
- Make sure the 2 air cleaner feet are seated into the rubber grommets under the air cleaner assembly.
- The air cleaner outlet pipe should be securely sealed to prevent unmetered air from entering the engine.
