Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

1. Relieve fuel system pressure as outlined in Technician Safety Information.
2. Deactivate audio anti-theft function, as outlined under Technician Safety Information before disconnecting battery.
3. Remove fresh air duct, air cleaner, mass airflow sensor, and air hose.
4. Remove resonance chamber and accelerator cable, then the throttle body.
5. Remove intake manifold bracket and intake manifold.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Tighten intake manifold bolts to specifications in order, Fig. 3.

b. Slide clamp onto hose, push hose onto resonance chamber, rotate hose and hook on locating knob, then tighten hose clamp.
c. Check engine coolant level.
d. Reactivate audio anti-theft function as outlined under Technician Safety Information.
