APPLICABLE MODELS/VINS
Identify by "lot" number on audio unit (see Applicable).*
DESCRIPTION
When turning on the audio system during cold temperatures (32 degrees F (0 degrees C) or lower) sound from the speaker(s) can take up to 10 seconds. This condition is created by cold temperatures affecting the power transistor's operating voltage. To prevent the cold temperature from affecting the operating voltage, the circuitry of the audio unit has been changed.
* Customers complaining of this problem should have the audio unit inspected and, if necessary replaced.
NOTE:
There are no part number changes. Refer to the "Lot" number to identify new and old audio components. Modified audio systems are available through the FMS service center at 1-800-523-6605. *
