Flowchart 5, Damaged Driver-Side Air Bag Module

WARNING: Handling the air bag module improperly can accidently deploy the air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read SERVICE WARNINGS before handling the air bag module.





SYMPTOMS


STEP 1
1. Deactivate the audio antitheft system, it installed.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.





3. Disconnect the diagnostic module connector and connect the SST to it as shown in the fioure.

STEP 2
1. Remove the driver-side undercover and lower panel.





2. Check the connection of the orange and blue clock spring connectors.





ACTION

STEP 3
1. Remove the driver-side air bag module.





2. Check the connection of the driver-side air bag modute connector.





ACTION

STEP 4
1. Disconnect the orange and blue clock spring connectors.
2. Disconnect the driver-side air bag module connector.





3. Check for continuity between the terminals of the clock spring.

Check for continuity between the terminals of the diagnostic module connector and clock spring connector.
