Parking Brake Lever: Service and Repair
PARKING BRAKE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. Remove the console. Removal and Replacement
2. If the parking brake cable is to be removed, perform the following procedure:
- Remove the tunnel member. Service and Repair Service and Repair
- Remove the installation nuts for the main silencer or the silencer. Service and Repair Service and Repair
- Disconnect the hanger rubber from the silencer or main silencer, except for that installed to the vehicle front and rear ends, and suspend either the silencer or main silencer using a rope.
- Remove the heat insulator.
- Move the rear heat insulator to a location that does not obstruct the servicing procedure.
3. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
4. Install in the reverse order of removal.
5. After installation, inspect the parking brake lever stroke. Testing and Inspection
Parking Brake Cable Installation Note
1. Install the rear parking brake cable to the parking brake brackets on the vehicle so that rear parking brake cable on the left side of the vehicle runs on top of the rear parking brake cable on the left side of the vehicle as shown in the figure.
2. Apply silicone grease to the grommet areas of the front parking brake cable before installing to the vehicle.
3. Pass the rear parking brake cable through the inside of the vehicle from the rear ABS wheel speed sensor wiring harness.
4. Install the rear parking brake cable clips to the vehicle being careful of the installation direction.
