Blower Motor: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then discharge and evacuate A/C system.
2. Remove air cleaner, then the line gasket from dash panel.
3. Remove Torx head retaining screw, then disconnect compressor suction line and receiver dryer fluid line from expansion valve. Remove and discard seals.
4. Remove rubber seal from dash panel extension.
5. Remove nut securing hot water shutoff valve and bracket to extension.
6. Disconnect de-ice thermostat electrical connector from plug.
7. Disconnect vacuum line from vacuum switch, then remove de-ice thermostat wiring, vacuum line and rubber grommet from bulkhead extension.
8. Remove bulkhead extension attaching screws and the extension.
9. Disconnect fan motor electrical connector and ground strap.
10. Remove attaching screws and nuts, then the evaporator housing and fan assembly.
11. Remove vacuum switch linkage-to-vacuum switch attaching screw.
12. Remove blower speed regulator cover attaching screws.
13. Disconnect electrical connector from blower speed regulator.
14. Remove evaporator housing attaching screws and the housing.
15. Remove access cover attaching screws and the cover from evaporator housing.
16. Remove lower evaporator case attaching screws, then the de-ice thermostat.
17. Remove evaporator case clips, then separate case halves.
18. Remove blower motor attaching screw and the blower motor.
19. Reverse procedure to install. Ensure de-ice thermostat is properly aligned during installation.
