ISSUE: The A/C-Heater control module used on vehicles built before 09/01/87 do not have "On/Off" function. A new A/CHeater control module with an "On/Off" function is now available.

ACTION: Vehicles built before 09/01/87 may be retrofitted with the new design A/C-Heater control module. Refer to the following service procedure.

1. Remove the instrument cluster finish panel.

2. Remove four (4) screws retaining A/C-Heater control module to instrument panel.

3. Pull A/C-Heater control module out of instrument panel, Figure 1.

4. Remove two (2) pin connector by pulling out on connector.

5. Remove twenty-six (26) pin connector by pulling locking tab out and pulling out on connector.

6. Transfer illumination bulb.

7. Connect two (2) and twenty-six (26) pin connectors to new A/C-Heater control module.

8. Install new A/C-Heater control module.

9. Reinstall instrument cluster finish panel.
