Fig. 12 Instrument Console Removal:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove left and right lower dash panels, floor nozzles and side defroster ducts.
3. Remove left and right instrument console bracket covers, then remove bolts securing console, Fig. 12, and lower console.
4. Disconnect wiring harness connectors and remove instrument console.
5. Remove screws securing center vent housing and remove housing and center duct.
6. Disconnect control cables and rod at heater case, then disconnect wiring harness connectors to control.
7. On models with A/C, mark and disconnect vacuum hoses at vacuum selector or remove vacuum selector from control.
8. Remove screws securing control, then remove control assembly.
9. Reverse procedure to install, then adjust controls.
