PARTS INFORMATION

CLAIMS INFORMATION

Submit a Primary Failed Part (PP) line claim using the claims coding table shown.

IMPORTANT:
The purpose of "ACTIONS" (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire Service Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Verify the incident.

2. Write down the radio presets for later "reprogramming" back into the radio.

3. Open both the driver's and passenger's door. The windows will automatically drop slightly. This is explained in NTB02-072 - 2003 350Z Battery Service Precautions.

4. Leave both doors open.

5. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait 5 minutes.

6. Re-connect the negative battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Before re-connecting the battery, make sure the doors are open. This will help ensure that nothing will be caught between the window top edge and the roof/weatherstrip area as the windows go up.

7. Determine the need for BCM replacement as follows:

^ If the courtesy lamps still don't work, this bulletin does not apply. See the "LT Lighting System" Section in the "K Electrical" chapter of the 2003 350Z ESM.

^ However, even if the lights work now, BCM replacement is required to ensure that the incident is resolved. Replace the BCM with the one listed in the Parts Information section of this bulletin.

IMPORTANT:
Even if the courtesy lamps work now, steps 1 through 6 (above) took care of it only temporarily. There is no way to ensure that the incident is permanently resolved, so replacing the BCM is necessary.

8. "Re-register" all the vehicle keys to the new BCM. This is explained in Nissan Technical Bulletin NTB02-071.

9. "Re-register" all the vehicle remote controls. This is explained in the "BL Body, Lock and Security System" Section in the "I Body" chapter of the 2003 350Z ESM.

10. "Re-program" the radio presets you wrote down in step 1.
