Auxiliary Air Valve (Idle Speed): Testing and Inspection

Fig. 12 Auxiliary air device test:

1. Remove auxiliary air device and reconnect electrical connector to device.
2. At a temperature of 68°F opening (a) of disc (b), Fig. 12, should be visible.
3. Turn on switch of test harness 8.0141 P. After about 5 minutes, disc (b) should close off opening.
4. If air device does not close, check power supply to device.
5. If power is available, check continuity of air device. If open, replace auxiliary device.
