Shoe & Lining Installation
1. Lubricate, then install bushings into mounting bolt hole grooves.
2. Lubricate, then install bolt boots into mounting bolt holes.
3. Lubricate, then install sleeves into mounting bolt holes.
4. Install two-way check valve into piston end.
5. Install inboard shoe and lining into caliper. Note the following:
a. Ensure D-shaped tab on shoe engages D shaped notch in piston.
b. If tab and notch do not align, use tool J-7624 or equivalent to turn piston.
c. Brake wear sensor must be at leading edge of shoe during forward wheel rotation.
d. Slide edge of metal shoe under ends of dampening spring and snap shoe into position, flat against the piston.
6. Install outboard shoe and lining assembly into piston. Ensure spring ends on outboard shoe snap into piston recess.
7. After installation of caliper assembly, apply brakes slowly and firmly three times to seat linings.
