Alternator Assembly Replacement

Fig. 3 Alternator Mounting:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove drive belt, refer to Drive Belt. Refer to Drive Belts,Mounts,Brackets and Accessories. Replace in appropriate engines section.
3. Disconnect oil/air separator hose, then vacuum harness bracket and position vacuum harness aside.
4. Remove two (one 10 mm and one 13 mm head) lower mounting bolts at rear of alternator and one front mounting bolt, Fig.3 . Use care not to damage radiator core when removing lower mounting bolts.
5. Disconnect electrical leads and remove alternator.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
