Replacement
Remove or Disconnect1. Linings.
Clean: Dirt and foreign material from wheel cylinder and pipe flare nut.
2. Pipe flare nut from wheel cylinder through rear of the brake backing plate. Do not fully remove to avoid fluid from spilling.
3. Two bolts, pipe flare nut and wheel cylinder from backing plate.
4. Use bleeder valve cap to plug the end of pipe to prevent fluid loss.
Install or Connect
1. Apply GM P/N 1234624D, or equivalent, to joint seam of backing plate and wheel cylinder.
2. Remove bleeder valve plug from pipe.
3. Pipe flare nut to wheel cylinder, finger-tight.
4. Wheel cylinder to backing plate; secure with two baits.
^ Tighten
- Wheel cylinder mounting bolts to 7 to 11 Nm (62 to 97 inch lbs.).
- Pipe fitting nut to 14 to 16 Nm (10 ft. lbs. to 12 ft. lbs.).
5. Bleeder valve cap to bleeder valve.
