SERVICE PORTS REPLACEMENT

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.




2. Remove the service fitting from the evaporator hose.
3. Remove and discard the O-ring from the evaporator hose.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install new O-ring to the evaporator hose.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




2. Install the service fitting to the evaporator.

Tighten
Tighten the fitting to 12 N.m (9 lb ft).

3. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
4. Test the affected A/C joints for leaks using J 39400-A.
