Disassembling And Assembling Intake-air Distributor

Disassembling intake-air distributor

1. Remove fuel ring pipe by unscrewing the four Torx screws (M6 x 12) and pull the fuel rail with fuel injectors from the seats







2. Loosen spring band clamp -1- and pull off hose -2- on throttle body.
3. Remove cycle valve on intake distributor by unscrewing the tapping screw -arrow-.







4. Unscrew fastening screws -arrows- for vacuum units.







5. Lever ball sockets from the ball heads.







6. Unclip solenoid valves from brackets and remove the entire hose assembly.
7. Remove intake-air distributor gaskets.







8. Remove throttle body by unscrewing the four Torx screws (M6 x 50) -arrows-.







9. Pull off the seal -arrow- from the throttle body.







10. Remove cap by unscrewing the two plastic screws.







11. Loosen screw-type hose clamps -arrows- and disconnect intake-air distributor.







12. Thoroughly clean components before assembly. Do not treat the surface with strong cleaning agents.

Assembling intake-air distributor

NOTE: Always replace O-rings and gaskets.

1. Join intake-air distributor with the rubber sleeves, then position and tighten the screw-type hose clamps -arrows-.










2. Replace O-rings -arrow- of cap and lightly grease with Optimol MP3.







3. Fit cap by screwing in the two plastic screws -arrows-.







4. Lightly grease and fit new seal for throttle body with Optimol MP3.







5. Fit throttle body by screwing in and tightening the four Torx screws (M6 x 50) -arrows-.
Tightening torque: 7.5 ftlb..







6. Lightly grease and fit new moulded seals �Intake distributor gasket for intake-air distributor with Optimol MP3.







7. Clip solenoid valves into the brackets.
8. Clip ball sockets onto ball heads; if necessary, lightly grease with Optimol MP3 beforehand.
9. Screw in fastening screws -arrows-.







10. Fasten cycle valve with tapping screw -arrow-.
11. Push on hose -2- and position clamp -1-.







12. Replace O-rings on fuel injectors and apply a light coat of silicone spray to ease fitting.
13. Fit fuel ring pipe by pressing the fuel injectors into the seats in the intake-air distributor and tightening the four Torx screws (M6 x 12) -arrow-.
Tightening torque: 7.5 ftlb.
