Removing And Installing Three-phase Generator
Preliminary work
1. Disconnect battery.
2. Remove drive belt.
Removing three-phase generator
1. Unscrew fastening screw -2-.
2. Unscrew fastening screw -3- by three turns. The threaded bush in the linkage lever of the generator -1- must be reset in order to establish the required play to extend the generator. This can be done by tapping lightly on the fastening screw using an aluminium mandrel -2-.
3. Remove generator -1- upwards out of the slotted support. Unscrew fastening screw -3- and remove, together with the deflection roller -4-.
4. Turn generator -1- clockwise -Arrow A- until the holding arm projects beyond the retaining lug.
5. Tilt generator -1- carefully outwards and to the front -Arrow B until the electric connections are accessible.
6. Release connector -2- and remove it -Arrow a-.
7. Unscrew fastening nut -3- for the B+ lead -4- and remove the B+ lead -4-. Remove generator -1-.
Installing three-phase generator
1. Insert generator -1-, connect B+ lead -4- and tighten with fastening nut -3-.
Tightening torque: 15 (11 ftlb.) Nm
2. Connect plug -2- until it clicks into place.
3. Run in generator -1- carefully to the rear -arrow A-.
4. Turn generator -1- in an anticlockwise direction -arrow B- until the holding arm fits into its installation position behind the lug.
5. Insert and position fastening screw -3- and deflection roller -4- in generator-1-.
6. Insert generator -1- and fastening screw -3- from above into the slotted support and tighten fastening screw -3-.
Tightening torque: 46 (34 ftlb.) Nm
7. Tighten fastening screw -2-.
Tightening torque: 46 (34 ftlb.) Nm
Subsequent work
1. Install drive belt.
2. Connect the battery and carry out "Work instructions after disconnecting the battery".
