Subaru Owners Manuals and Service Manuals suggest the use of Subaru Brand Coolant for the Subaru engine. The warranty policy and procedures manual lists part number 400 100 001 for the Subaru coolant. The part number listing is for warranty puposes only.
Fuji Heavy Industries and Subaru of America recommend that a permanent Ethylene Glycol base coolant such as Prestone II or Dow-Guard be used should you need to add to or replace the existing coolant. Follow the coolant manufacturer's instructions for proper mixing of coolant to ensure proper protection.
