Parking Brake Lever: Service and Repair
Parking Brake LeverREMOVAL
1. Lift-up the vehicle.
2. Remove the rear wheels.
3. Remove the rear seat cushion.
4. Remove the console box.
5. Loosen the parking cable self-locking nut and console bracket.
6. Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.
7. Remove the parking brake lever.
8. Straighten the tab on the parking brake lever and remove the cable.
INSTALLATION
1. Install in the reverse order of removal.
Tightening torque:
Parking brake lever 18 Nm (1.8 kgf-m, 13.0 ft. lbs.)
2. Be sure to adjust the lever stroke.
INSPECTION
While pulling the parking brake lever upward, count the notches.
Lever stroke: 7 to 8 notches when pulled with a force of 196 N (20 kgf, 44 1b)
If it is not within the specified value, adjust the parking brake.
