Drive Belt: Service and Repair

FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT (2ZZ-GE)

REPLACEMENT
1. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH
2. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD COVER NO.2
a. Remove the 3 bolts and nut, then remove the cylinder head cover No.2.





3. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS PROTECTOR
a. Unfasten the 3 clips, then remove the wire harness protector.
b. Disconnect the pressure sensor connector.





4. SEPARATE SUCTION HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 nuts, then separate the suction hose.
5. REMOVE AIR SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY





6. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT
a. Turn the drive belt tensioner clockwise to relieve tension on the belt, and then remove the belt.
b. Carefully return the tensioner to the unloaded position.

NOTICE:
^ Be sure to connect SST and the tools so that they are inline when using.
^ When retracting the tensioner, turn it clockwise slowly in 3 sec. or more. Be sure to not apply force rapidly.
^ After the tensioner is retracted all the way, do not apply force any more than necessary.

7. INSTALL AIR SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY
8. INSTALL SUCTION HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY
Torque: 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 inch lbs.)
9. INSTALL CYLINDER HEAD COVER NO.2
Torque: 7.0 Nm (71 kgf-cm, 62 inch lbs.)
