Air Injection Pump: Service and Repair
AIR PUMP ASSYREPLACEMENT
1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
2. REMOVE AIR PUMP ASSY
a. Remove the 2 screws and clip, then open the front fender liner.
b. Disconnect the air pump relay connector.
c. Disconnect the air pump connector.
d. Disconnect the air hose No. 5.
e. Remove the bolt, then remove the ground cable.
f. Remove the 2 bolts and nut, then remove the air pump.
g. Using a screwdriver, unfasten the claw. Then remove the clamp from the air pump.
3. INSTALL AIR PUMP ASSY
a. Fit the clamp into the air pump.
b. Install the air pump with the 2 bolts and nut.
Torque: 7.0 Nm (71 kgf.cm, 62 in.lbf) for air pump x body
8.4 Nm (86 kgf.cm, 74 in.lbf) for ground cable x air pump
c. Install the ground cable with the bolt.
d. Connect the air hose No. 5.
e. Connect the air pump connector.
f. Connect the air pump relay connector.
g. Install the front fender liner with the 2 screws and clip.
4. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
