Maintenance Required Lamp/Indicator: Service and Repair

- The Oxygen sensor (one-wire type only) must be replaced every 30,000 miles.

Fig. 150 LAMBDA SOND:

- To replace the Oxygen sensor, apply some "Never-Seize" Volvo part number 1161035-9 or equivalent to the threads of the new sensor. Make sure that no paste enters into the slots on the tip, this will render the Oxygen sensor ineffective. Torque the sensor to 55Nm (40ft.lbs).

Fig. 182 REMINDER LIGHT:

- An indicator light on the instrument panel is activated at 30,000 mile intervals.

Service Indicator Lamp Reset Button:

- To reset warning light remove the panel under left side of dash. Locate mileage counter unit under the dash behind pedals (follow wires from speedo head if needed). Depress white reset button on interval counter. Restart vehicle to ensure reminder light is off.
