Dear Volvo Owner:

Our quality control does not stop at the end of the production line. We follow our cars throughout their life cycles to be sure that they are operating as intended. Every once in a great while, we find something that does not meet our high standards and we feel obliged to correct it.

Now is one of those times. We are not satisfied with the electric front window mechanism with certain 1988 700 series Volvos. We find that after a time, some will not raise the window after it has been opened.

To be sure that you do not experience this inconvenience, we would appreciate it if you would schedule an appointment with your Volvo dealer to have your window lifts repaired. Of course, there will be no charge to you for this service.

Please accept my apology for this situation. If you have any questions you can contact your Volvo dealer. If you need more help, you may call Volvo Consumer Affairs at (201) 767-4737.
