Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Battery Disconnect Caution.

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3.

Caution: Refer to Sensing and Diagnostic Module Handling Caution Sensing and Diagnostic Module Handling Caution.

2. Position the steering wheel straight ahead.

Caution: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution.

3. Remove 2 steering wheel module mounting bolts and discard them.
4. Remove the connectors from the horn terminal and the steering wheel module.
5. Remove the steering wheel module.

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution.

1. Install the connectors to the horn terminal and the steering wheel module.
2. Install the steering wheel module.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice.

3. Install the steering wheel module mounting bolts.

Tighten the steering wheel module mounting bolts to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).

4. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3.
