Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement




Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling Cooling System Draining and Filling.

2. Remove the air outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.

3. Remove the mass air flow meter. Refer to Mass Airflow Sensor with Intake Air Temperature Sensor Replacement Service and Repair.

Warning:
Refer to Radiator Cap Removal Warning Service Precautions.


4. Ensure engine is cool before removing the coolant pressure cap.





Warning:
Refer to Safety Glasses Warning Safety Glasses Warning.


5. Release the retaining hose clamp (1) and disconnect the radiator inlet hose (2) from the radiator.





6. Release the retaining hose clamp (1) and disconnect the radiator inlet hose (2) from the water pump.

Note:
If the inlet hose (2) is not being replaced leave retaining clamp (1) attached to the inlet hose.

7. Remove the inlet hose (2) from both ends.

Installation Procedure





Caution:

1. Install the inlet hose (2).

2. Secure the inlet hose (2) at the water pump end, by opening the retaining hose clamp (1) and securing it over the outlet hose (2).





3. Secure the hose (2) at the radiator end by opening the retaining hose clamp (1) and retaining it over the hose (2).

4. Install the air outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.

5. Install the mass air flow sensor. Refer to Mass Airflow Sensor with Intake Air Temperature Sensor Replacement Service and Repair.

6. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling Cooling System Draining and Filling.

7. Inspect cooling system for leaks.
