Battery Positive Cable Replacement (Front)

Removal Procedure

Warning:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning Battery Disconnect Warning.

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary).

2. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .

3. Detach the junction block cover.

4. Remove the junction block retainer (1) and detach the front battery positive cable (2).

5. Remove the generator nut (1) and detach the front battery positive cable (2) from the generator.

6. Detach the front battery positive cable (1) from the engine cradle and the right frame rail.

7. Remove the fuse block cover.

8. Remove the fuse block retaining nut (1) and remove the front battery positive cable (2).

9. Remove the front battery positive cable (1) from the engine compartment.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the front battery positive cable (1) to the engine compartment.

Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the front battery positive cable (2) to the fuse block and tighten the nut (1) to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

3. Secure the front battery positive cable (1) to the right frame rail and the engine cradle.

4. Install the front battery positive cable (2) to the junction block and tighten the junction block retainer (1) to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).

5. Attach the battery post and fuse block covers.

6. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary).

7. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
