Flowchart No. 3 Symptom ABS warning light does not illuminate with ignition switch at ON (engine stopped)

Possible cause
^ Burnt ABS warning light bulb
^ Damaged instrument cluster
^ Damaged ABS control module
^ Open or short circuit in wiring harness
^ Poor connection of connector

Step 1
1. Disconnect the ABS control module connector and turn the ignition switch to ON.

Terminal Identification:

2. Ground terminal 2L (L/Y) of the ABS control module connector and verify that the warning light illuminates.

Step 2

Bulb Inspection:

Action Chart:

1. Remove the instrument cluster.
2. Remove and check the ABS warning light bulb.

Ohmmeter Connection:

Action Chart:

Step 3
Check for continuity between terminal 21 (L/Y) of the instrument cluster connector and ground.
