Front Seat Adjuster Motor Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement (Seat Replacement) .




2. Remove the six-way power seat adjuster (2). Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Replacement (Front Seat Adjuster Replacement) .
3. Disassemble the following:

1. Remove the feed wires from the following motors:

* Front vertical gearnut motor (6).
* Rear vertical gearnut motor (7).
* Horizontal adjuster motor (11).

2. Remove the nut securing the front of the motor support bracket (4) to the inboard adjuster and partially withdraw it from the adjuster (1) and gear-nut drives (3, 13).
3. Remove the following drive cables from the motors and complete disassembly of support bracket (4) with motors attached:

* Front vertical drive cable (8).
* Rear vertical drive cable.
* Horizontal drive cable (10).


4. Grind off peened over end(s) of grommet securing motor to support and separate motor(s) as required from support.
5. Drill out the top end of grommet using an 8 mm (3/16-inch) drill bit.



Installation Procedure

1. Install the grommet to the motor support bracket and secure motor to grommet using a 3/16-inch rivet.
2. Install the drive cables to the motors.
3. Install the motor to inboard adjuster and secure with nut.
4. Install the motor feed wires to the motors.




5. Install the six-way power seat adjuster (2). Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Replacement (Front Seat Adjuster Replacement) .
6. Install the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement (Seat Replacement) .
